HAPPY BIRTHDAY, ISS!

Today, marks the fifteenth anniversary of the International Space Station. The ISS, was started in 1998, with the first piece launched by the Russian Space Agency, Roscosmos, and later joined by pieces from NASA and several other, international, space agencies such as: JAXA (Japan), ESA (Europe), and ASC-CSA (Canada). ISS crews became a staple in 2000, and since its inception, it has hosted over two hundred astronauts from fifteen different nations.

On top of its efforts to help progress research, educational, and humanitarian efforts, its main goal is to pioneer collaborative scientific experimentation, research, and progress in space. ISS crews have conducted experiments in everything from life, physcial, and earth sciences to technology and astrology within and outside of the football field-sized facility.
