All About Voyager...

Voyager 1 and 2 are interstellar spacecrafts launched in 1977, to explore the areas where nothing man made -that we know of- has gone before: the edges of our Solar System and deep space. To learn more about these impressively long-running missions, click on the picture below and navigate JPL's Voyager mission pages. There you can track where they are in space right now, browse what is on their famous golden records, and interact through games and videos!

I have also included two Radiolab episodes that include excerpts about the Voyager golden records and their "escape" from our planet and out to the outer edges of the Solar System.

Click here to hear about the Golden Records in the first part of this episode entitled "Space." And when you are done, click here to listen about what the Voyagers are up to now, but you need to fast-forward to the halfway point to hear this.

Parents, guardians, and kiddos, please note there are some "bad words" (nothing really bad) that do make an appearance in these excerpts, just so you know.

Happy travels, space cadets...
